At Wilcraft, we don’t just buildvehicles; we build confidence and safety for the modern angler. Based in NorthSt. Paul, Minnesota, we are a family-owned and operated manufacturer dedicatedto engineering the most capable amphibious ice fishing vehicles on the market.

Our Origins: From a Garage to the Great Lakes

Our journey began in 1998 in a garage in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Our founder, Tom Roering, was driven by asimple but vital goal: to make ice fishing safer, easier, and more mobile for his own family. Recognizing that the dangers of thin ice and the struggles of mobility were shared by the entire angling community, Tom transitioned his personal project into a public service mission. After years of meticulous development,we introduced our first prototype in the fall of 2004. The response wasoverwhelming, confirming that the industry was ready for a revolution. By early 2006, the first production Wilcraft was delivered, marking the start of a newera in ice fishing technology.

Decades of Innovation
The Wilcraft has never stopped evolving. We have spent over 25 years refining our designs based on real-world performance and customer feedback:
  • 1998–2005: Prototyping and testing the core amphibious concept.
  • 2006: Launch of the first production 2WD units featuring 8hp transaxles.
  • 2013 (The Hydrostatic Era): Transitioned to high-performance 2WD and 4WD hydrostatic drive systems paired with massive     32” drive tires for superior traction in heavy slush and snow.
  • 2016: Increased vehicle width by 6” to enhance stability and expand interior fishing space, adding two fishing     holes per side.
  • 2017: Launched the EXT model,  extending the vehicle length to 14' to comfortably accommodate three     anglers and their gear.
  • December 2025–Present (The  Mammoth Era): Unveiled our most ambitious project yet—The Mammoth. This flagship model represents a radical leap forward in amphibious design,  moving to an intuitive driver-forward configuration with a steering wheel     and dashboard to optimize visibility and weight distribution.
